Philips Foundation seeks to identify global challenges where the innovation capabilities of Philips and expertise of partners, visionaries and innovators can becombined to create lasting impact [See video summary here]. Both Philips Foundation and Ashoka believe in the power of collaboration and its ability to mobilize expertise, innovation and impact.
Ashoka and the Philips Foundation are collaborating to accelerate the impact of social entrepreneurs “Innovating for Sustainable Communities”. Together we are launching a 6-month accelerator program: The Globalizer on Health and Lighting, which will focus on helping 13 leading social entrepreneurs scale their innovations.
These innovations include sustainable solutions that improve access to health and access to solar technology for last mile communities all over the world. Examples include Joost van Engen of Healthy Entrepreneurs, Ashoka Netherlands Fellow elected in 2016 and Abu Musuuza of Village Energy, Ashoka East Africa Fellow elected in 2014. See full profile of all Fellows below
The Globalizer provides these social entrepreneurs with the strategic resources they need to rapidly and effectively accelerate their impact. To do so, we match them with global business leaders and consultants who help them develop their scaling strategies during 3 months. At the end of this process, the social entrepreneurs will meet at the Globalizer Summit which will be organised at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, Netherlands in October.
At the Summit, the social entrepreneurs work with high-level entrepreneurs and business executives, who offer strategic support to further refine their strategies, work out key challenges and have key doors opened. All in all, the Globalizer provides a unique opportunity for cross-sector experts to connect, collaborate and dream big.
See this video for more information on the collaboration and the support it provided to Fellows.
