Partners & Sponsors - Economic Inclusion Summit

Ebay Foundation / The Opportunity Project (www.theopportunityproject.org)

For more than 15 years, eBay has connected buyers and sellers in an efficient marketplace, fostering entrepreneurship and generating income for millions of people. Nonetheless, there remains an urgent need to engage the untapped potential of citizens around the world. Nearly one half of the world’s population lives on less than $2/day. Helping them increase their income is a critical step in lifting individuals and communities out of poverty. Furthermore, most of the 3+ billion people in the world living at or below the economic poverty level face significant barriers: not only do they lack access to markets and financial services, they also pay higher prices for goods and services than the rest of the world’s population.

As part of its Opportunity Project, the eBay Foundation is now pairing up with the Ashoka Globalizer to help scale the most promising ideas to generate abundant economic opportunities for disadvantaged groups around the globe and access to critical goods and services at fair prices.
